O GOMP

O Grande Oriente Maçónico de Portugal (G∴O∴M∴P∴) nasce, em 2005, da vontade de três Lojas, regularmente constituídas, de acordo com a Tradição e os usos e costumes da Maçonaria Universal, se unirem para trabalhar sob a jurisdição de um Grande Oriente.
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ sustenta que a Franco-Maçonaria é Una e universal, aberta a todos os seres humanos sem distinção de sexo, raça, crença religiosa, etnia ou nacionalidade. Os seus valores, consubstanciados na trilogia Liberdade, Igualdade e Fraternidade são válidos para toda a humanidade e constituem a demanda mais perene que ao Homem foi proposta.
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ quer contribuir para a unidade de todos os Maçons espalhados pela superfície do globo, independentemente dos Ritos que pratiquem e das Jurisdições a que pertencem. O G:.O:.M:.P:. não exclui, inclui; não segrega, agrega, não divide, une.
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ é uma Jurisdição/Potência de Pessoas.
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ reconhece:

1. o direito inquestionável de cada franco-maçon de decidir e seguir o seu próprio caminho de aperfeiçoamento segundo os ditames da sua consciência;
2. o direito de visita de cada maçon que se faça reconhecer como tal, segundo a Tradição;
3. o direito de criação de Lojas compostas exclusivamente de homens, exclusivamente de mulheres, e de homens e mulheres conjuntamente, quando tal resultar da convicção profunda de que esse é o melhor caminho para cada um.

De qualquer forma, o direito de visita é universal e irrenunciável;
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ declara sem complexos o seu adogmatismo e manifesta total abertura à Universalidade e à Unidade maçónicas, no respeito pela diversidade.
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ respeita a liberdade absoluta de consciência de cada irmão e irmã e constitui-se como um espaço de tolerância, de diálogo e de solidariedade.
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ respeita o Rito como um caminho de aperfeiçoamento e não como um dogma.
O G∴O∴M∴P∴ sustenta que a tradição maçónica e a interpretação do corpus doutrinal composto pelos Old Charges, os Landmarks e as Constituições d’Anderson não deve ser feita de uma forma imutável, fixista, cristalizada ao arrepio dos tempos e das comunidades onde vivem os maçons. Sustenta que devem ser interpretados à luz da história e da evolução dos tempos, dos costumes e das vontades.

The Masonic Grand Orient of Portugal

The Masonic Grand Orient of Portugal (G∴O∴M∴P∴) was created and consecrated in 2005, as three Worshipful Lodges, regularly constituted in accordance with Masonic Tradition and Usage, gathered together in order to work under a new Jurisdiction.

The G∴O∴M∴P∴ has it as a principle that Freemasonry is One and Universal, open to all Human Beings regardless of gender, race, creed or nationality. Its values, condensed in the trilogy Liberty/Equality/Fraternity, embrace all Mankind and inspire our most demanding quest for human happiness.

The G∴O∴M∴P∴ wishes to contribute to the Unity of all Freemasons spread across the world, whatever their Rite or Jurisdiction. At the GOMP we do not exclude, we include. We do not segregate, we aggregate. We do not divide, we aim to unite.

The G∴O∴M∴P∴ recognizes the unquestionable right of each Freemason to follow his or her own way of seeking perfection according only to their conscience, and we acknowledge the universal right of fraternal visit to every Freemason who makes himself or herself recognized as such in a Traditional way.

The G∴O∴M∴P∴ acknowledges the right of Freemasons to constitute and consecrate Lodges composed exclusively by men, composed exclusively by women or composed by both, according to their own free will and conscience.

The G∴O∴M∴P∴ regards Masonic Rite as a traditional way of seeking improvement, not as a dogma.

The G∴O∴M∴P∴ defends that the Old Charges, Landmarks, Constitutions and Masonic Tradition, in general, should be interpreted, not in an immutable way, but considering their historical context and bearing in mind the evolution of Mankind and the actual circumstances in which Freemasons live.

The G∴O∴M∴P∴ stresses its non dogmatic principles and therefore values Masonic Universality and Unity, to be achieved in absolute respect for diversity.

In respecting each Brother’s and Sister’s freedom of conscience, the GOMP presents itself as a space of tolerance, dialogue and solidarity.
